ASD and HSSD

Aspirating Detection Systems (ASD) or High Sensitivity Smoke Detection (HSSD) Systems work by drawing air continually from the protected area into a pipe network and transporting it to a detector unit.

Unique laser technology detects any smoke and measures it against alert and alarm thresholds programmed into a fire control panel.

These systems can also detect flammable and toxic gasses.

ASD / HSSD Systems are suitable for a number of challenging environments where standard smoke detection is not suitable.

The technology was pioneered by VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) and is now offered by a number of manufacturers.
